  • Magnet recognition, considered the gold standard of nursing practice, was awarded to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn and Scottsdale Healthcare Shea by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Scottsdale Healthcare is the first multi-hospital Magnet health system in Arizona, and Magnet recognition places it in the Top 4% of hospitals nationwide. Scottsdale Healthcare’s newest hospital, Thompson Peak, will be included in the next Magnet survey.

  • The American Medical Association and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recognized Scottsdale Healthcare for its disaster response planning and pandemic flu drill during the 2007 National Congress on Health System Readiness in Washington, D.C.

  • Press Gainey Associates national survey in 2007 found that Emergency patients in Scottsdale have significantly shorter wait times compared to Arizona and national averages.

  • Scottsdale Healthcare was named to the AARP’s national “Best Employers for Workers Over 50” list in 2003-2007. It was the only Phoenix-area employer to receive the honor in 2007, 2006 and 2005.

  • Scottsdale Healthcare Shea was named a CareScience Select Practice National Quality Leader in the category of medically managed acute myocardial infarction. The hospital is recognized as having achieved superior performance in care of heart attack patients quantified by both quality and efficiency indices.

  • The National Industry Liaison Group (NILG), a non-profit employer association on affirmative action and equal employment opportunity, has recognized Scottsdale Healthcare’s participation in the Jobs for Arizona Graduates program as a “best practice”.

  • Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn received the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Medal of Honor for its exceptional conversion rate for organ and tissue donation.

  • Scottsdale Healthcare received the 2007 Collaborative Spirit Award from The Translational Genomics Research Institute for its leadership in bringing biomedical research to community residents.

  • Scottsdale Healthcare was one of 500 hospitals nationwide to be designated a Quality Respiratory Care facility by the American Association for Respiratory Care in 2007.

  • Arizona Public Service Co. recognized Scottsdale Healthcare for its efforts to improve energy efficiency and saving approximately $200,000 in annual utility costs.

  • Scottsdale Healthcare joined the "Door to Balloon Alliance” a national initiative designed to save the lives of those experiencing a heart attack. Members must reliably achieve a door-to-balloon time of 90 minutes or less.

  • Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn is ranked among the Top 100 Hospitals in the 2006 Community Value Index Five Star Hospital List. Rankings assess hospital performance based on financial criteria, costs, efficiency and reinvestment in services and facilities to provide a high degree of community value.

  • The Solucient 100 Top Hospitals: Performance Improvement Leaders recognized Scottsdale Healthcare Shea in 2004 and 2005 among the nation’s top 100 hospitals for achieving consistent annual clinical and organizational improvement. The award acknowledges a culture of performance improvement and implementation of consistent organizational improvement. Performance Improvement Leaders attained outstanding results in boosting patient safety, decreasing mortality and improving their financial status.

  • Recognition of positive environment by the Best Places to Work in the Valley of the Sun, co-sponsored by the Phoenix Business Journal and the Great Place to Work Institute

  • Recognition as one of the Best Places to Work for Commuters by the United States Environmental Protection Agency & United States Department of Transportation
