Hospital-based physicians, called “hospitalists,” provide round-the-clock care for patients at Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak.
A hospitalist is an internal medicine doctor who is at the hospital during his or her entire work schedule, and is assigned as an attending physician for a patient. The hospitalist can notify the patient’s primary care physician or referring specialist of major changes in condition or diagnosis.
